We stayed at the Wagon Circle Rv Park during the week we were in Arkansas for the Workkamper Rendevouz. To this point in our journey, all our check-ins have pretty much been the same. Go into the office, show them our reservation, they give us their map and rules and either get us an escort or send us on our way. Not here.
When we walked into the office and we told them we were checking in, they told us to go pick out a site and just come back and let him know which one we want. Now some of the parks we have been to this would have been a little challenging due to the layout. Not this one. This park is laid out like one big circle. There are trees around the outside perimeter and the middle is completely open.
Laid Back, Pleasant. Environment
After we chose our site and set up, we went back to let Jim know what site we had picked. I don’t think we have ever met a more laid back, relaxed and more pleasant person.
As far as the campground goes. It was very quiet. The people were very friendly. The weather was extremely nice during our stay. The cable worked ok but the wifi was pretty much non-existent. We have Verizon as our wireless carrier and that even struggled. I think the best we got during our stay was 3G. We even bought a wifi booster at the Rendevouz. It worked sporadically but still very frustrating.
Random Dirt Hills
As we walked around the campground, we noticed these two random dirt hills on the inside part of the circle. Being from the North East originally we were more than a little stunned to find out they were tornado shelters!!! I guess it was a good thing they were there but boy do we have a lot to learn…lol
The campground is located on the Little Red River. There is a path that leads down to a fishing dock. There is a playground near the entrance of the path. This park also has a laundry room, bathhouse, and the camp store sells ice. We were there in the off-season so I’m not sure if they have planned activities.
