On Our way over to Missouri, we started getting a little tired and decided to pull off the road and relax. We did a campground search and came up with River Town Campground. They are located about 6 miles south of I-20.
Upon arrival, we found the check-in process went very smooth. The people in the office who I think were the owners were super nice. The campground was very basic and laid out nicely. Most sites were pull through, full hook-up and easy in, easy out. They were also large enough for most set-ups to stay hooked up.
We decided to unhook because we noticed a welcome center that looked pretty cool so we wanted to check it out. It did not disappoint us. There were 2 floating casinos (we did not go in) nearby, The welcome center and a section of the park called Navy Circle. We did not do the entire park because we were too tired but if you are a history buff it’s a must-do.
The campground itself had clean restrooms, a playground, and a saltwater swimming pool. Although situated on the main road, the campground was very quiet. No noticeable road noise was heard.
