Owl Creek RV Park

Owl Creek Market & RV Park

Owl Creek RV Park is located just off Interstate 70 at the Odessa exit (37) in Odessa Missouri. It’s 35 miles east of Kansas City. The office where you check-in is also a country store that sells meats, cheeses, specialty cakes, and bagged candies. It is not your typical gas station snack store. Reservations can be made online (you will need to create an account) or by calling their office. They offer Good Sam & Military Discounts.

The check-in process went smoothly. We were given a packet that contained a site map and park rules sheet. There are no escorts to your site but our site was easy enough to find. They have both back-in and pull-through sites. Since we were only staying one night we opted for a pull-through site. It was fairly level and long enough to where we did not have to unhook.

The Layout

I guess the best way to describe the layout of this park is it’s in 3 sections. If you take a look at the site map (above) you will see one section to the right, one to the left, and one directly behind the office. We were located in the section on the left (west side) of the park.

The site we stayed in and the two next to us have 2 site numbers. I am really not sure why as they told us they were one single pull-through.

Park Notes

Since it was the off-season the pool was closed and the park was only partially occupied. On a quick look around the park, we noticed there are what seems to be long-term/seasonal residents. Some of the roads in this park are paved and some are crushed gravel/dirt. Some of the roads are a little rough. There is a laundry room that consists of 4 washers & 4 dryers and you will also find a pool and foosball table. We also found the restrooms and showers to be clean.

More About This Park

Besides the pool, there is a small dog park, playground, and horseshoe pits. They are located near the front of the park on the west side. You have a choice of either gravel or cement sites. They have both the back-ins and pull-through sites in either one. Sites are equipped with picnic tables and fire pits.

Final Thoughts

We stopped here on our way from Montana to Florida. I was not feeling well and needed to rest. We had no issues with this park and although it’s close to the interstate we slept well. Although there’s not a whole lot to do at the park itself it’s a great on/off the interstate campground. We would stay here again if we were traveling through this area.
