When we booked this Koa on our way to Florida, we booked 5 days. We wanted to ride our motorcycle up in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Upon arrival, we walked into a nicely stocked camp store with very friendly employees. They found our reservation and had someone escort us to our site.

Trail To Patriot Park

The site was a pull-through corner site and was a little tight but manageable. It was also a bit unlevel. We hooked up to everything with no problems. Wifi was spotty but worked on and off. This park is situated near the main road and you can hear the traffic most of the night. That is of course unless you turn on your Rv a/c or fan and close the windows…lol. Quiet at last. There is a trail that leads to a public park (Patriot Park…I think.) If you cut through that park you can catch the local trollies (for a small fee) that will take you to different locations throughout Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We utilized it to go to the aquarium. So much better than trying to find parking in town.

Site Map

This place has a jumping pillow, pool, well-stocked store, firewood for sale, laundromat, those small bike rentals, and my favorite, a concierge service. Not only do you get the wall of pamphlets of things to do that are in just about every office of every campground, but there is also Concierge desk with a Koa employee who has extensive knowledge of the area. How awesome is that?!!!

Bottom Line

This park is located in a very busy area. Because of that, you also have access to almost everything nearby. We were not big into the whole Dollywood and touristy things but found we were very close to the Smoky Mountain National park entrance which made us extremely happy. If we wanted to do the whole touristy thing, we would definitely come back to this campground.
