KOA Oklahoma City East

After leaving Branson Missouri we needed to start heading to our first workamping job in Amarillo Texas. We decided to split the distance and this campground was about the halfway mark.

Upon arrival, we found the office almost empty and under construction. The guy that checked us in was super friendly. Check-in went smoothly and easy. We were then escorted to our site.

Able To Stay Hooked Up

Our site was a good one. We had enough room to pull in and leave our truck hooked up. It was also a completely level site which was another bonus. We had an awesome fire pit (which unfortunately we did not get to use) and had full hook-ups. It was an easy in and easy out site.

It is a relatively small campground located close to the interstate but we did not hear too much road noise. It was quiet, clean and easy to negotiate. People were friendly. The presence of 2 storm shelters when you pulled in were reminders of the type of weather that can pass through. As a matter of fact, we had some thunderstorms roll through overnight but nothing too serious.

Our Site

Update: After leaving Texas in September 2017 after our work camping assignment and heading to Florida, we stopped into this place again for a night. To our surprise (and horror) there was a sign on the door that stated there were no more RV sites available. Our hearts sunk. We were tired and just wanted a nice safe place to rest and spend the night.

We decided to go in any way. We figured we could at least see if they had any recommendations. To our surprise (and delight) they went the extra yard and placed us in an overflow spot for the night. The spot was a full hook up site!!!. We were extremely thankful.  Thank you KOA Oklahoma City East!!!!!!!!
