About KOA Cordele

The Cordele KOA Journey campground is located less than a mile off I-75 at exit 97. Even though it’s close to the interstate the noise level was not bad at all. We were on our way to Florida and needed a quiet place to park and rest for the night. This park fits the bill. The employees were friendly and our site was fairly level. The best part was it was a pull-through site that was long enough that we did not have to unhook it!!!

The Arrival

After pulling into the campground from Rockhouse Rd, the office was just a short distance in. You will first pass the pool (on your left side) and the playground (on your right side). The office building, where you check-in, is on your left side. Opposite the building is the propane filling station and the dump station.

Check-In

As with most KOA’s check-in was a breeze. We had a reservation so I am sure that helped. After a speedy check-in, we were escorted to our site. Our site was long and level so setting up was a breeze.

Campground Layout

The campground property itself is a big square. We’ll start with the section behind the office. Directly behind the office but in the same building is the laundry room. The laundry room was neat and clean. Continuing with this section behind the office you will find shuffleboard courts and horseshoe pits. Continuing parallel with Rockhouse Road and moving away from the office building is a couple of rows of RV sites and on the outskirts are tent sites. The RV sites are water & electric only, with no sewer.

Moving Back

Staying in this section of the park but moving towards the back you will find more of mostly water/electric sites but there are a few full hook-up sites (48-51) along the way. At the back of this section is the K-9 park. A good spot to get your furry ones some stretch time…lol.

Last Section

Moving to the right of camp K-9 is the final RV section. This is where we were. This section stretches from the back of the office building to the back/far side of the park. If you were at the office and started heading straight back you will see a small building before the RV sites. This building houses restrooms/showers and a kitchen recreation room. The restrooms and showers were clean.

The remaining RV sites were all pull-through full hook-up sites. Some were 30 amp only and some were 30/50 amp. They were all long enough that we could have stayed without unhooking. They also all seemed to be fairly level.

Final Thoughts

This is a great no-frills park that is easily accessible from I-75. It is always a plus for us if we are only staying for one night and don’t have to unhook. If we were in the area again we would definitely stay here again.
