We were looking for a campground in Missouri so we could visit with some friends and decided to book this one. We like booking KOA’s because we can do the booking completely online. We tend to make our decisions at night when no staff would be in the office and the online reservation system has never failed us.
The road leading to the campground was filled with just about every touristy thing you can think of. Restaurants, museums, clubs, amusement parks filled the streets. We were in bumper to bumper traffic but I think that was due to the fact we rolled in on a Saturday.
Upon arrival, we were checked in quite quickly with extremely friendly staff. We were then escorted to our site. The sites have 2 concrete strips that you line your tires up with. I felt our strips were a little off leaving to much room behind us and less room on the front side.
There was really no room to hang out on the front door side of the RV. There was plenty of room to hang out either in the front (hitch side) or rear of the RV. When we were at the park relaxing, we set our chairs towards the front (hitch) side and were quite comfortable.
Some of the sites were separated by railroad ties and others by stone/slate. The park is in the process of changing over to the stone/slate which will look really nice when completed. The campground was clean and well kept. The staff was extremely friendly. We had no problems with the cable but the wifi was in and out. We don’t use campground bathrooms very often but we popped our heads in and they seemed very clean.
The video above was shot at Branson Landing about 7 miles from the KOA. It is located at the heart of Branson Landing at the foot of the “Town Square” on the Lake Taneycomo Lakefront. To see the schedule of the complete light show, visit their official website.
The bottom line is if you love dinner and show combos or you have kids that love go-karts and amusement parks then this is the campground for you. Everything is extremely close. We used it as a home base to meet friends and it worked well for that too. For being so close to all the area attractions this campground was very quiet. We slept like babies.
If we were going to be in this area again, we would definitely stay at this campground again.
