Andrew Jackson State Park Campground

Welcome

Andrew Jackson State Park is located in Lancaster South Carolina approximately 15 miles off I-77. This was our first state park experience outside of the one we stayed in when we lived in New York. It most certainly did not let us down.

Lake By The Campsite

Andrew Jackson State Park is located on 360 acres. It is named after Andrew Jackson who according to Wikipedia is the only President who was born in South Carolina.

View Behind The Site

The camping area is fairly small. The road leading to the camping section loops around in a circle and the campsites are located around the circle. All sites have water and electric and 3 have sewer also.

Bath House

The individual sites were long enough for us to back in and not unhook. The circle around was another story. It was very tight in spots and there was one 5th wheel who actually scraped a tree and damaged his slide topper.

Playground

Our RV is 35′ long and we have an F-350 with an 8′ bed and we barely made it around. If you are smaller than that you should have no problem. A very large motorhome would probably not make it around.

The campground itself is clean, quiet, and tree-covered. There is a bathhouse centrally located and they were clean. There is a lake with a walking trail that goes all the way around the lake by the campground. There was no wifi but the Verizon signal was good.

You are also able to use the park for the day if you were not camping. This review is for the campground section only. To make a reservation at this park you will need to go to Reserve America. Click here to see more of Andrew Jackson State Park under our “Day Trip Adventures” page.

Final Thoughts

We love state parks and this one did not disappoint. The road to get to the site winds around trees making it difficult for larger rigs but once at your site there’s plenty of room. If we were in the area again we would definitely stay here again.
